We are raising funds to enable women and girls with disabilities in Kenya and Uganda to continue with their education, greatly enhancing their future life opportunities. Having a disability should not stop these women and girls to reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.

The women and girls we will support through this project are at a double disadvantage – not only do they live with a disability, they are also either orphaned or from families who are struggling to make ends meet, including paying school or college fees for their children. Many families are forced to make the heartbreaking choice of prioritising the education of their other children, rather than their daughter with a disability, as they think they will have a higher earning potential in future.

Our committees in Kenya and Uganda will identify the women and girls with disability who most need our support - embedded in local communities, they are best placed to do this. Those identified will complete our application form and once accepted onto our scholarship programme we will transfer their fees directly to the relevant educational institution. We are committed to supporting each of our scholars to study at the most suitable school or college for them, up to undergraduate level.
