Thirty years ago, ECPAT UK was set up to campaign against child exploitation. We continue the work towards our vision that children enjoy their rights to protection and to lives free from exploitation, working directly with child victims of trafficking and our Youth Advisory Group to advocate change

ECPAT UK is the leading children’s rights charity working with young victims of trafficking and those at risk. Reports of child trafficking in the UK are increasing with over 7,000 children identified in 2023. Many children we support directly are unaccompanied children seeking protection and care in the UK and are vulnerable to further abuse. There are no specialist services to help them recover and they often experience poverty, loneliness, isolation and poor mental health.

We campaign for better protection and care for all children. Our Youth Programme provides direct support to child victims in a safe space where they can build relationships through 1:1 support and mentoring, counselling, peer support groups, fun and creativity. Our Youth Advisory Group works with us to direct our rights based, child centred, and trauma informed work to create change and inform our research, advocacy, training and campaigning, with children’s participation at the centre.
