The lack of women-centred support for low-income women, especially if caring for children/disabled/elderly, who are most impacted by deprivation and discrimination. Anxiety and despair about fuel & food costs, accessing healthcare, benefit cuts, asylum, employment, bad housing and children’s well-being are high. Juggling multiple demands women are badly overworked. Women of colour/immigrants, single mums, LGBTQ, pensioners, care leavers face extra barriers. Many help services no longer exist.

Provide peer support via daily helpline, three in-person drop-in sessions per week, advice workshops, monthly self-help groups (on-line/in person) for asylum seekers (most BME), disabled women, mothers in family court and survivors of rape/domestic violence which bring together women facing similar stresses. Support covers benefit issues, debt, eviction, child protection, asylum issues, racist and sexual violence, pregnancy and breastfeeding and more, with trained staff and volunteers on hand.
