The critical issues of poverty, domestic abuse, and homelessness disproportionately affect women. 45% of single parents (90% are women) live in poverty, with half of children in these households facing the same. Gender disparity in financial security is lifelong, 23% of single female pensioners are in poverty. We support women who have experienced domestic abuse, which affects 1 in 4 women, and provide support to those facing homelessness, including families living in temporary accommodation.

The unique Women’s Centre model provides multi-issue support under one roof and from one team. CWRC helps women build confidence, independence, and self-esteem through group sessions, classes, personalised and peer support. Our centres provide information and advice on a range of issues from finding employment and housing to domestic abuse. We provide a unique a space where women can share experiences and grow together.
