Situation
Anaphylaxis is a serious allergic reaction which can be life-threatening. Over the last two decades, allergic diseases have become alarmingly common and are continuing to grow, affecting lives on an unprecedented scale at school, the workplace, and when socialising and travelling. Up to 3m people in the UK are affected, with up to 8% of children and 6% of adults. In an average classroom, two children have a food allergy. Anaphylaxis UK is here to support you to live a safe, free, and full life.
Solution
Our work raises awareness of anaphylaxis and offers extensive resources that can be trusted. For individuals, we provide evidence-based information so that they can confidently manage their allergy at every milestone. Through our Safer Schools Programme, we equip schools with the knowledge and confidence to safely manage pupils with allergies. For the health sector and food industry, we offer tailored courses and toolkits to improve the recognition, diagnosis and management of serious allergies.
