We’re raising funds for empowering support to help girls and young women heal after sexual abuse. We offer safe and creative spaces in which young women can be heard, make connections with each other and be empowered to live the lives they choose for themselves.

12% of women have had child sexual abuse perpetrated against them before the age of 16. Ofsted reports that 90% of girls experience sexual harassment in schools. Sexual abuse can have a life-long impact, especially without access to specialist support. It can cause low self-worth, panic attacks, flashbacks, behavioural problems, missing school, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts or attempts. In Cornwall, this is compounded by other disadvantages including poverty, deprivation and rural isolation.

We will offer empowering specialist support to young women aged 11-18 in Cornwall who have experienced sexual violence, harassment or abuse. By having a safe space with a skilled and caring professional to explore the impact of their worst experiences, this support is life-changing, improving physical and mental wellbeing, confidence and self-worth. In group sessions we look at the ways in which violence and abuse has affected their lives including trauma, shame and anger.
