Solace Women's Aid is celebrating 50 years of support for women and children who are survivors of domestic abuse in the capital. We have provided necessary support for thousands of women and girls over the years and now we are working to end domestic abuse in London before the next 50.

It is estimated that 1 in 3 women will experience abuse in their lifetime. In England and Wales alone 85,000 women are raped annually. In London, 1 in 10 of all recorded offences in London are domestic abuse related and 1 in 4 children and young people experienced physical abuse over the year. At Solace we find theses statistics to be unacceptable and are working in all London boroughs to end violence against women and girls and support survivors in their recovery and escape from domestic abuse

Solace takes a holistic, service-user centred approach to working with survivors, supporting the whole person in their recovery from domestic abuse and ensuring that they remain the primary decision makers in their lives. We do this through several services including first-stage refuge housing for those looking to escape dangerous situations of domestic abuse, IDVA and ISVA advocacy for those engaging with the criminal justice system, therapeutic support, and work with children and young people.
