Situation
Historic buildings in Antarctica are exposed to extreme conditions. Snow, wind and our warming climate pose a serious risk to these unique sites which tell the early histories of scientific discovery and human survival. Most urgently this year is the need to repair Blaiklock, a tiny museum in miniature used by men to shelter and create some of the first maps of the region. We need your help to deliver urgent repairs before it is too late.
Solution
We will send a team to Antarctica in 2025 to repair the felt, timber and artefacts of the site so that is it protected and safe for the future. Work will be undertaken to the highest quality by skilled people following international heritage guidelines.
