We are raising funds to continue to provide a hot meal, destitution payments, advice and a welcoming space for people to meet at our Welcome Centre in Bristol where we see around 120 + asylum seekers and refugees every week. We also provide Advice, volunteering and skills development opportunities.

Asylum seekers in the UK cannot work, making them reliant on charities. Many face homelessness and struggle to meet basic needs such as securing a place to stay, and having enough food or clothing for themselves and their families. In addition to experiencing destitution, our service users often have multiple other needs, including help with learning English, addressing various health issues, and coping with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and trauma.

BHN is the only agency providing a holistic service of accommodation, support with fresh claims, access to skills development, volunteering. Having welcoming space to share with others means that we see a vast improvement in our service user’s well-being. We have a experienced team both our advice manager and the director have been in the sector for 25 years and our welcome team have lived experience and understand the issues faced by asylum seekers.
