The East of England is severely underserved with opportunities for children and young people to engage with live performances and participatory music making. This is leading to increasingly disconnected communities, high rates of rural isolation at all ages and low aspirations amongst young people. Music in schools has been cut significantly and the majority of young people have never experienced high quality live performances.

We will develop socially engaged, interactive performances for children and young people in underserved state schools across the East of England. We will introduce children to live orchestral music, delivered with a range of artistic partners, in creative and engaging formats. We believe that building on existing initiatives and providing opportunities for children and young people to develop their own creative ideas will have the greatest impact on them in the long-term.
