We want to fund research and advocacy projects to reduce health inequalities for women from Black, Asian and low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Situation
Women from Black, Asian and low socioeconomic backgrounds are disadvantaged when it comes to their health. We part funded the NIHR study that found that women and their babies from Black or minority ethnic communities experience worse outcomes during pregnancy and the postnatal period. Help us find the breakthroughs and transform how we prevent, diagnose and treat the conditions that disproportionately affect women and girls of colour.
Solution
We are investing in research and advocacy to address these inequalities. For example, we are funding research to ensure pregnant women with sickle cell disease, which disproportionately affects Black people, can manage the disease effectively during their pregnancy, and to improve contraceptive services for ethnic minority communities in the UK. Our Health Collective brings together grassroots organisations to ensure that underrepresented voices and experiences can help change policy.
