Across Yorkshire, nearly ¼ of people are economically inactive. In Harehills Leeds, where we are based, 47% of women are economically inactive. It is estimated that as many as 46% of children in East Leeds live in poverty. Bradford has a hidden unemployment rate of 14.8% and it's considered the 6th most employment deprived district in the country. Added to this, women face an increased lack of confidence; in our unemployment index we found 56% of clients felt less confident applying for jobs.

Our service will reach the most vulnerable women in these areas, who need our support the most. Through outreach to our referral partners such as homeless prevention charities, refuges, community centres, refugee and asylum seeker support groups, care leavers and probation services, we will empower women to get the job. In our last financial year, we supported 806 women, 94% of whom reported a growth in confidence and 69% of those supported with interview preparation got the job within a month.
