Each year 4,000 young people die before they’ve had a chance to live their lives to the fullest, and many of those have at least one sibling. Sibling bereavement is an incredibly challenging time and can lead to loneliness, fractured families, survivor syndrome, depression, increased chances of mental health problems, and even suicide. By addressing their emotions, practical, and informational needs, we can support their welfare during this challenging time.

Sibling Support is the UK’s only sibling specific bereavement charity with many of our staff, trustees, and volunteers having lived experience of sibling bereavement. Our website (www.siblingsupport.co.uk) is a hub of resources, tools, and advice for children and young people to aid their immediate and long-term well being, and while also making them feel less isolated in their grief.
