Home-Start Banbury, Bicester & Chipping Norton (HSBBCN) provides unique home-visiting support for families facing challenges with at least one child under the age of 5. Our highly trained volunteers offer non-judgmental, confidential emotional support and practical help because childhood can't wait.

No parent should feel alone when parenting young children. Supported families experience a complex web of challenges including isolation, poor mental health, financial strain, relationship problems, substance abuse, domestic abuse, disability, illness, bereavement, teenage pregnancy, inadequate housing, or being refugees and Asylum-seeking families. These challenges increase their vulnerability and make it much harder for them to provide a secure foundation for their children.
HSBBCN provides a ‘parent-powered’ early intervention service that builds on family strengths and helps families move forward independently. Our families have access to bespoke home-visiting support, for 2-3 hours per week, which helps them address the challenges in their lives. This core service is provided by compatible and skilled volunteers (or, in more complex cases, our Family Support Worker). Additionally, we run 3 weekly term-time drop-in play sessions. All services are free of charge.
