Caring in Bristol enables people facing or experiencing homelessness to move away from crisis. Our winter services reach people with nutritious meals, emergency shelter, support, and community during the hardest, coldest months. This year, we will need to support more young people than ever before.

With one of the fastest rising UK homelessness rates and a youth population in Bristol increasing by 10% over the last 5 years, young people face a growing homelessness crisis. More are forced onto the streets; on sofas, vehicles or temporary accommodation. Competition for scarce housing disadvantages them in a difficult to navigate housing system. Help is needed to tackle this, and the rising costs of rent, food, fuel and essentials. Isolation needs to be reduced and stable homes found.

Our new dedicated youth night shelter will provide an alternative to risky rough sleeping. As the only one in Bristol it provides wraparound support, focusing on move-on accommodation, life skills, wellbeing and mental health, work, and education options. Over Christmas young people will be welcomed to our pop-up day centre; a warm, safe space providing company, Christmas dinner, festive activities, and access to support and resources when many services are closed.
