Tonight, women will be sex-working on the streets of Bristol. Isolated, coping with trauma, and often subjected to violence, it can be hard to believe that life can change. But healing is possible. One25 is here for each woman – whatever her situation – offering practical help, healthcare and hope.

Situation
The women we meet are living with the impact of trauma and face disadvantages including homelessness, violence and addiction: street sex-working is one of few options to meet their basic needs. They often experience violence and struggle to access support as services are not designed for people with multiple complex needs. In the last two years we’ve seen a 76% increase in women using our night outreach service and women are returning to street sex work due to poverty and housing issues.
Solution
7 nights a week our outreach van provides crisis support for women who are street sex-working, offering food, first aid, warm clothing and condoms. The outreach team connect women to our day services, health hub and casework, where they can get help with their mental, physical and sexual health, and receive one-to-one support to tackle life-controlling issues including homelessness, domestic violence and addiction. Last year we supported 260 women to take steps towards a safer, healthier life.
