Situation
We aim to address barriers to employ-ability and limited market reach of local small businesses across our under-supported community in Hastings. Many residents lack the necessary skills and resources to secure stable employment or grow their businesses. We are currently in the Needs Assessment phase, gathering data points surrounding socioeconomic barriers to employment/achieving business growth in order to further understand the needs of the community, with a predominant focus on women/girls.
Solution
Based at our central hub space in Hastings, The Lotus Flower will offer tailored workshops focused on job readiness to help individuals secure employment opportunities and support local businesses with capacity-building resources to grow sustainably. We aim to create a community-led ecosystem that fosters economic stability, promoting long-term growth and self-sufficiency. Our target beneficiaries are women and girls but will reach additional other under-supported groups within the community.
