Many people do not receive essential support in relation to their sight loss. Over 40% of blind and partially sighted people feel moderately or completely cut off from the people and things around them. Only 17% of people experiencing sight loss are offered emotional support. 4 out of 10 blind or VI people are not able to make the journeys they needed or wanted to make. Half of blind and partially sighted people are always or frequently limited in the activities they would like to take part in.

We meet our service users practical, social and emotional needs with peer support groups; counsellors; outreach workers; transport; and mobile units with a range of low vision aids, equipment and technology to support people in their own homes. We demonstrate equipment that promotes independence at home, at work and online; offer one to one support to claim benefits and negotiate other services; and run peer support groups and a range of sports and leisure activities to improve wellbeing.
