Situation
EducAid’s schools serve almost 700 children and impact 60,000+ young people in Sierra Leone. Updated infrastructure and facilities are important for creating an environment where students can thrive. EducAid has identified three areas of needs that are barriers to our students' future success surrounding connectivity, infrastructure and repairs/maintenance. These barriers build the digital divide, prevent longevity of education equipment and pose distractions or hazards to students and teachers.
Solution
EducAid will reduce barriers by enhancing the learning environment for students/teachers across EducAid’s school sites. Well-equipped facilities not only improve learning experiences yet also ensure that equipment is kept in working condition. On each site we will upgrade internet and technology resources, renovate classrooms and residential areas and perform essential repairs so all students and teachers have a safe, adapted learning environment with access to the tools they need to succeed.
