Turquoise Mountain supports artisans under threat, in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Jordan, Syria, and Palestine. We do this in every way we can, from vocational education and business development to primary healthcare. Many of these artisans face huge challenges, from active conflict to climate change.

Communities we work with have faced real crises in recent years - conflict, displacement, droughts and floods. Our Artisan Resilience Fund exists to support these communities during crisis. We will work this year with 6,000 Afghan women - the primary breadwinners supporting their families through the coming winter. Recently, we’ve distributed emergency food supplies in Afghanistan, water purification tablets after floods in Myanmar, and helped artisans in the West Bank keep businesses open.

Beyond our core with artisans passing on their traditions to the next generation, elevating craftmanship, connecting to global markets and creating income for their families, the Artisan Resilience Fund exists to see them through the most challenging times. Sadly, it is needed now more than ever - there is more need and fewer organisations operating. We must act quickly and get artisans the help they need - whether nutrition support, winter blankets, temporary refuge, or water-purification.
