Situation
We know that hospitals can be cold clinical spaces. A sterile hospital environment, while necessary for preventing infections, can be problematic due to its impersonal and cold atmosphere. This can lead to increased patient anxiety and stress, hindering recovery. The lack of natural elements and personal touches may also affect mental health negatively, reducing overall patient satisfaction and comfort.
Solution
The Charity will deliver a programme of Art in the hospitals its supports, primarily in communal spaces, brining colour and life to cold sterile spaces. This will promote healing by reducing stress and anxiety, providing comfort, and creating a more pleasant environment. It will improve patients mental wellbeing, boost morale, and even aid in faster recovery. Art also offers a distraction from pain and helps create a sense of normalcy and hope
