75% of NHS staff have experienced a mental health condition in the past year, with many reporting anxiety, low mood, exhaustion and high stress levels. Due to differing working patterns and lone-working NHS staff also often feel isolated and disconnected from colleagues. Supporting NHS staff wellbeing is of paramount importance during what has and continues to be a very challenging time in the face of funding cuts, the long-lasting impact of the pandemic, strikes and staffing shortages.

Breathe Harmony, run by Breathe Arts Health Research, is an accessible, inclusive & much-loved choir supporting the wellbeing of NHS staff from across Southeast London, including Guy’s, St Thomas’ & Evelina Children’s Hospitals. 100% of members reported that the choir has a positive impact on their wellbeing, reduces stress, boosts wellbeing & sense of community. Due to cuts, without your support the choir will have to close at the end of 2024 after 7 successful years of supporting NHS staff.
