We are raising funds for our knife crime prevention work, including knife crime prevention workshops for children aged 10-16, workshops for teachers, carers, parents and youth workers, and our anti-knife crime campaigns. This work is vital now: knife crime has increased 78% in the last 10 years.

Knife crime levels across the UK have increased – with London seeing knife crime rising by 22% in the last year. Young people are also twice as likely to be murdered in a knife attack compared to any other age group. Fearful for their safety, more young people report carrying knives. However, 70% of young people in A&E with stab injuries have been stabbed with their own knife. This leads to a vicious circle where young people decide to carry a knife for protection, and then end up in trouble.

We run anti-knife crime workshops for children, aged 10-16, in London and Nottingham. In these, young people learn about the dangers of knife crime and how to keep themselves, and others, safe. We run workshops and provide online resources to empower teachers, practitioners, parents and carers to better understand knife crime, and how they can prevent young people from getting involved in knife crime. Finally, we run campaigns so everyone understands their role in knife crime prevention.
