Our building is run down, cold and leaks when it rains. We want to replace and insulate the roof, add cavity wall insulation and replace all the doors and windows with double glazing to make the building warmer, reduce our carbon footprint and to enable us to continue to serve the local community.

Situation
Our building is used by over 400 people every week including 3 churches, 3 community organisations hiring office space and a wide range of charities and local groups hiring space for activities for local people including many refugees and asylum seekers. Unfortunately the building (built in the 1960s) is poorly insulated meaning that it gets cold in winter and our heating costs are high. Sadly we have recently had to pass on some of these costs to our hirers and partners
Solution
We will repair and insulate our roof, insulate all external walls and replace old single-glazed windows with double glazing. This will help keep the building warmer in winter and reduce heating costs. In turn this will reduce our carbon footprint helping us on the path to reach our target of net zero carbon by 2030. And it will ensure that the 400 people in our local area who use our services can continue to access food, warmth, advice and support.
