There has been a rise in anti-LGBTI+ sentiment around the world - within this hostile landscape, LGBTI+ organisations become targets of harassment, intimidation, and even physical attacks. Perpetrators often operate with impunity, exploiting the lack of legal protections and the complicity of state authorities. As a result, LGBTI+ organisations operate in a constant state of vulnerability, fearing for the safety of their staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.

Part of our mission is strengthening our partners in the global fight for LGBTI+ rights. Providing our partner with an innovative new ‘safety and security grant’, they can access the basics – such as a consistent internet connection so that they can continue to operate remotely if threatened with eviction. By addressing the root causes of insecurity and empowering organisations to mitigate risks, it is possible to create safer spaces for LGBTI+ communities to thrive and advance their rights.
