Every year Reaching Higher runs a week-long residential camp for 120 young people aged 11-18 from Croydon, in partnership with local churches. The week is a chance for young people to try new activities, attend seminars, make new friends and explore the Christian faith for themselves.

Situation
The school holidays are often a time of increased isolation and challenge for young people. Many families are not able to take their young people away from London and young people often do not have opportunities to try new activities, experience the outdoors or meet new friends. Many churches connected to Reaching Higher want to be more involved in supporting young people, especially during holiday periods, but may not have structured programmes to do so.
Solution
Once each year Reaching Higher runs a 5-day residential which is open to young people aged 11-18 from Croydon, in partnership with local churches. The residential brings together volunteers and young people from multiple churches in Croydon, as well as being open to young people who wish to explore their faith further. At the residential, all young people receive three nutritious meals per day and have the chance to try lots of new experiences in a very different environment outside London.
