Our Community Hub opened in September 2023 in the Leys, Oxford. With local residents, we’re co-creating a space to turn community ideas into action! We host and run activities chosen and led by local people to make our community even better: Parent Peer Support, funding for new projects, and more.

Nine Oxford neighbourhoods are in the 20% most deprived in England, with Northfield Brook (our base) in the 10% most deprived. There is a life expectancy gap of 13+ years between men living in North Oxford and those living in Northfield Brook. A child in Blackbird Leys is 2.6x more likely than the average Oxfordshire child to be referred to CAMHS. Local people have great ideas about how to help their community thrive, but due to inequality, often can’t access the resources to make that happen.

Our Community Hub is co-creating a space where people can support each other, pursue ideas to strengthen our community, and access resources to make these ideas real. There’s something for everyone, with 4 progressive tiers of support: Reducing Barriers: e.g. 1:1 Parent Peer Support, food larder Social Networking: e.g. Puzzles club, SEN Families peer support Personal Development: courses e.g. coaching, project management Project Incubation: funding, networks, free rooms for new projects to use.
