There are over 85,000 children and young people living with a life limiting condition in the UK. The impact of childhood critical illness affects the whole family unit, and can cause isolation, fear, financial burden and physical and mental health problems. Holidays can provide a break away from hospital or treatment cycles, but children living with critical illness may be unable to travel due to lack of travel insurance, medical facilities nearby or cost.

Kids’ Village will be the UK’s first holiday resort that exclusively offers short, respite breaks for impacted families to still enjoy some time away from medical facilities and make magical family memories, all at no cost to themselves. The resort will comprise 10 x 4-bedroom lodges plus a village centre, ‘The Hive’, which will host central facilities, and be used for activities and relaxation, all set in 30 acres of countryside in Wychnor, near Lichfield in Staffordshire.
