Each year the event grows more popular, and despite funding support from both business and the local council and other agencies like the Penrith BID, the costs outweigh the income. The Winter Droving is a much loved event in Cumbria, a celebration of the local area and heritage, it brings together the community and visitors in a unique and wonderful spectacle that culminates in a masked torchlit procession with giant animal lanterns. The Winter Droving needs more funds to keep going.

Each year the event grows more popular = more people, more costs; and the costs outweigh the income. The event is free and run by local charity. The local authority has decreased it support so causing further problems. The Winter Droving simply needs more funds to keep going in Penrith. We need everyone to chip in to save it!
