Situation
Nobody should be hungry and alone this winter. Right now, more than 7,500 people are homeless in Manchester. 34% of Manchester residents cannot afford to buy food. Throughout winter, it gets even harder, as it is a cold and lonely time for anyone without friends and family. Without good nutrition, mental and physical health, and community support, it is impossible for a person to access support services and build the safe community that is needed to survive another cold winter in Manchester.
Solution
We will provide this essential foundation of food and community for anyone struggling this winter. Our 3 Bees Café is run with volunteers who also use our services, serving hot-nutritious breakfast and lunch. We don’t require referral, anyone who needs us can enjoy free limitless brews, snacks and meals in a warm social space to refuel and make connections to help through the toughest times. From here they access our full range of wellbeing and practical support to end the cycle of poverty.
