We are raising funds to provide a warm and safe space for anyone sleeping on the streets in Southend this Christmas. The donations will help us provide people experiencing homelessness with hot meals, clothing, companionship, and the support needed to leave homelessness for good.

We are committed to supporting everyone who is pushed into rough sleeping in Southend. Our city has the highest number of people experiencing homelessness across Essex. A sudden increase in pressure – like losing work, a relationship breakdown or a mental health issue – often forces people into homelessness. Recently, we’ve been supporting an increasing number of people who are new to the streets and have been forced into homelessness because of the cost-of-living crisis.

Being offered a hot meal, shower and warm clothes is often the first step in someone’s journey out of homelessness. Whilst providing a safe and welcoming space for those who need it, our Day Centre also provides bespoke advice and support, acting as a gateway to statutory and voluntary services. We help people move into accommodation, signpost them to relevant services, offer on-site visits from physical and mental health services and introduce them to employment opportunities.
