Many children and young people do not have the advantages in life that others take for granted. They may have chaotic home lives, been bullied, suffered abuse, have risk-taking behaviour that puts them at risk of educational or social exclusion. The young people we work with can have low self-esteem, poor mental health and wellbeing, poor educational achievement and low aspirations. In some cases, they are at risk of this leading to exploitation or involvement in criminal activity.

A trained youth keyworker will work intensively with children and young people referred to us to to support them on a progression pathway. Each engagement is unique but will help build positive relationships; agree a development plan with priority targets for the young person and support them to achieve their goals. Every session will allow children/young people to express their thoughts and feelings and to encourage them through small steps to address the barriers in their lives.
