We wish to develop two key aspects of the support we provide for bereaved women and girls: to broaden/expand our yoga sessions for bereaved mums; and to host more frequent, varied well-being activities in accessible venues, plus 1-2-1 Creative Therapy support for young girls/teenage bereaved mums.

Pregnancy loss or the death of a baby or child can leave women feeling disconnected from, and lacking trust in, their bodies; their physical and emotional health can suffer. They have the same postnatal needs as new mums, but don’t attend groups due to their loss experiences, so can feel further isolated. Also, teenage pregnancy loss - a taboo within a taboo - is not at all supported locally; child bereavement charities don’t support children/young people who experience their own loss.

We’ll enable more bereaved women/mums to access support by offering a wider variety of wellbeing/yoga sessions, more regularly, more geographically spread out and in more accessible venues; reducing barriers for women to access much-needed grief support. Responding to need, a specialist creative service for teenage bereaved mums will be unique to our area: our 1-2-1 therapeutic provision will allow girls/young people to feel supported through their own unique grief experiences.
