Blesma helps 2,660+ Members–limbless/injured veterans and their widow(er)s, aged 21–105. Younger veterans have multiple/complex injuries and will require ongoing support. Older limbless veterans/widow(er)s face worsening health conditions due to age, infirmity, and/or disability. They require financial support to access crucial equipment, adaptations, and support services to live independently and stay active. We expect the cost of providing this support to increase by 6% this year.
Your donation will help c.60 elderly/vulnerable Members & families receive support from Blesma Officers regionally UK-wide. Limbless/injured veterans & widow(er)s in financial need will receive help to access vital equipment/services: wheelchairs, mobility scooters, stair-lifts, adaptive sporting/recreational items/activities, personal alarms & support services. These items are not available via NHS or statutory sources and will be provided with holistic support to ensure ongoing needs are met.
