Children and young people today face huge challenges. Even more so if they live in the second most deprived borough in the UK. Hopes and prospects for the future are bleak. By working side by side with them, we aim to empower children and young people to take control of their future.

Children and young people today face a challenging reality. The pandemic, the cost-of-living crisis and international wars have all contributed to an ever-changing present and an uncertain future. Knowsley is the second most deprived borough in the UK, with high levels of unemployment, obesity and children on school meals. Provision for children and young people is limited, they feel unheard and seen as a nuisance. They feel out of place and have limited aspirations for their future.

Our children and young people's outreach programme gives its beneficiaries the opportunity to learn and develop their skills. It takes into account their input on what they want to learn and involves them in the activities from the start. Children and young people have their voices heard and actively contribute to the discussion. They feel empowered and confident. Everyone should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential, especially if they have to overcome a number of disadvantages.
