Unpaid family and friend carers are the backbone of our society. They are selfless, supportive, resilient, incredible people who support those who cannot support themselves. We are seeking funding to be able to continue providing peer-led and volunteer support to unpaid carers across Hertfordshire.

Situation
Think of a time when you helped someone who would not cope otherwise? Perhaps helping a parent who can no longer shop? Or who needs help with their cleaning? Most of us have, or will be an unpaid carer. Often overlooked heroes of our community, we tend to think of those being cared for rather than the people behind the scenes providing care. This leads to some carers being unidentified, struggling to cope, feeling lonely, and not sure where or who to turn for help, risking their wellbeing.
Solution
We support unpaid family and friend carers of all ages across the county. Each service is coproduced leading to the development of our peer-support and volunteer led provisions such as mentoring, support hubs, bereavement support, and our keeping in touch service, as well as our information, advice, advocacy, and specialist support. We provide tailored support for carers across the county, offering a place to build friendships, confidence, skills, and a break.
