Too many families in rural Africa face an impossible decision: their livelihood or their children’s education. Access to quality secondary education either doesn’t exist or is unaffordable. Yet, if an adolescent girl can overcome the barriers in her path, she will be healthier, wealthier, marry later, and develop the skills needed to drive positive change in her community. If not, like 34 million girls in sub-Saharan Africa, she will be deprived of an education that unlocks her potential.
Solution
PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) builds and runs inclusive, affordable secondary schools in rural communities. But it doesn’t stop there, we partner with governments to transform secondary education across sub-Saharan Africa so every girl can benefit.
