ELHAP supports children and young people with disabilities by offering opportunities for adventurous play in a safe and inclusive environment. Demand for our services is at an all-time high so we plan to expand our Adventure Play provision and enhance our 5-acre woodland site.

Situation
Children and young people are playing outside less than ever before and leading more sedentary and isolated lives. For those with disabilities and complex care needs, opportunities to play freely and adventurously and access nature are even more limited due to various challenges and risks, as well as a shortage of appropriate local support. This impacts their physical and mental wellbeing, and also their ability to build confidence, resilience and social skills.
Solution
Supported by Playworkers, children and young people with disabilities can explore, be active and thrive. In anticipation of our 50th birthday, we will expand our Adventure Play provision and enhance our 5-acre woodland site. New play structures, co-designed with our beneficiaries, will improve accessibility and maximize fun. This project will ensure a safe yet thrilling environment for hundreds of ELHAP children, creating a lasting legacy of joy, adventure, and community for generations to come.
