Street children in West Africa are some of the world’s most vulnerable, facing violence, discrimination, and physical, emotional, & sexual abuse. Often invisible to those who should help them, but all too visible to abusers—and face significant obstacles in seeking protection from and redress for these rights violations. Involving street children in setting the course for change is essential: without understanding their complex realities, it is difficult to create sustainable positive solutions.

We believe that street children are experts in their own lives and that solutions to the issues they face must be led by their views, experiences and hopes for the future. Our Street Champion programme builds trust with street children and equips them with the confidence and capacity to gather views from their peers and and demand the change they want to see. Our approach will enable street children to shape local, regional and global efforts to secure their rights.
