Situation
Disadvantaged young people face increasing barriers to accessing live theatre, with rising ticket prices, a cost-of-living squeeze, fewer arts provision both in and out of the curriculum and school staffing shortages. Without these experiences, young people miss out on developing valuable life skills, and exposure to diverse perspectives. Teachers are also seeking resources and CPD workshops to help provide students with enriching cultural experiences that are otherwise out of reach.
Solution
Pilot Theatre’s scheme, Just the Ticket, will help us to give tickets for young people in Pilot Theatre’s 'Just the Ticket' initiative will provide tickets to disadvantaged young people from schools and community groups who would otherwise be unable to attend. Our shows are specially produced for young people and accompanying free, accessible resources and workshops, along with CPD and support for teachers, will promote discussion, learning, and confidence in arts participation, inspiring further engagement in cultural activities.
