Our family support and early help project works with local families in difficulty for whom there is no other support available, working preventatively and through early intervention. We help with parenting, housing issues, domestic abuse, budgeting and cost of living advice, and employment support.

The cost of living crisis has exacerbated the problems faced by many families in our community and our family support team work with families who are struggling and need advice and support with parenting, poor mental health, domestic abuse or financial issues. We are now the only provider of early intervention family support in our area and we cannot meet the current demand. Early intervention, guidance and support for parents provides benefit for them, their children and the whole family.

Our family support team runs a combination of free 1:1 sessions and groups with provision personalised for each family depending on their level of need. Mothers are also invited to join our weekly ‘Mums for Mums’ peer support group which empowers mothers to be honest about how they are feeling in a safe and welcoming environment with no judgement. The group offers comfort, and acceptance and friendship through peer support.
