When someone goes missing, they can become invisible, and face a range of frightening risks. Their loved ones are left in emotional turmoil, consumed by uncertainty and fear. More missing people than ever are being found dead, many due to suicide. This is a national crisis and a life or death issue.

Any of us could disappear. Every 90 seconds in the UK, someone does. Issues such as financial struggles, mental health problems, domestic abuse, dementia, and criminal/sexual exploitation of children mean that for many, the only option is to run away or go missing. Children, young people and adults who go missing are very vulnerable and at serious risk of harm. It could be your child, partner, parent, or a friend or colleague battling a crisis in silence. We want to bring them all back safely.

Missing People exists to support everyone who is missing to stay safe, explore their options, get help, and reconnect with those who miss them - without judgement. For the loved ones left behind, we offer hope, a community who can relate to their unique experience, and practical and emotional support, for as long as it takes. This Christmas, with your help, we can support children, young people and adults in crisis to access the right help, reconnect safely and restart their lives.
