Young women & girls (YW&G) are disproportionately affected by domestic and sexual abuse/violence. It is estimated that 25% of girls experience some form of abuse by age 16. Specialist support is limited and YW&G often lack the understanding and practical skills to recognise abuse, communicate their concerns and remove themselves from harm. This leaves many YW&G traumatised and vulnerable to further distress and harm including school exclusion or getting caught up in the criminal justice system.

Advance supports young women and girls (aged 13-24) who are at risk of domestic abuse (DA) in the family home or in their intimate relationships. We intervene at the earliest opportunity and provide safe spaces and specialist advocates for young women & girls at risk of abuse, violence, or exploitation, helping them to escape harm. Through practical and emotional support, advocacy, and awareness raising, Advance empower them to build a safer future and achieve their aspirations.
