FareShare Sussex & Surrey takes surplus food and gets it to those who need it the most. We are fundraising to ensure charities and community groups gets surplus produce to people who are struggling to afford to eat. Providing food to food banks, community fridges and community kitchens.

Situation
In the UK more than 18 million meals are wasted each day. Whilst 13 million people in the UK are still struggling to afford the food they need. We bridge the gap between bellies and bins, taking good-quality nutritious food and distributing it to charities and community groups across the region. Ensuring food makes it to people's plates rather than in landfill. During the winter months many people are worrying about how to make ends meet, meaning they need to turn to food charities for support.
Solution
Working with 144 local charities we redistribute 900 tonnes of nutritious food, ensuring they can feed hungry people in their local communities. Working with food banks, community kitchens, pantries, fridges and community support centres we can get food onto the plates of those who need it most in the community. Our food is nutritious and delicious but would otherwise have ended up in the bin, so lets get it onto plates rather than in the waste.
