Many women with experience of the justice system or at risk of entering it have suffered male violence, often from caregivers/intimate partners. Understanding this and offering non-judgemental, holistic support which responds to needs for healing and expression are key to unlocking positive futures.

Violence against women and girls is devastating. The physical, mental and financial impact can strike any woman or family, changing the direction of their lives. 60% of women in prison have faced abuse or violence, many having committed an offence due to coercive control or are victims of more serious offences than they are accused of. Women can rebuild their lives; however, their needs are poorly met by public services. They are punished by a system built to help, impeding positive change.

We provide a trauma-informed, women-only environment and creative practice to rebuild trust and confidence, improving wellbeing and increasing aspirations. Our Members gain transferrable skills to access employment, training and volunteering, preventing further victimisation. Our comprehensive offer includes free art/talking therapy, advice surgeries and signposting to specialist services. We provide travel/childcare costs and a hot lunch to alleviate the financial burden of accessing support.
