Situation
Ruddi's Retreat aims to reduce stress for the whole family and improve mental wellbeing whilst receiving a respite break at one of our five retreats based at Primrose Valley in Filey, North Yorkshire and Newton Hall in Blackpool, Lancashire. When a child is diagnosed with cancer this has a huge effect on the whole family and the opportunity to get away from it all can seem unobtainable.
Solution
Ruddi's provides a 3, 4 or 7 night break completely free of charge to allow the family time together to make precious memories together. When a child is diagnosed with a terminal illness you tend to find that a parent has to give up work to become primary carer and therefore the family finances take a huge dip meaning that a break away from everything is last on the list of necessities but it is actually what the family needs most to come to terms with the cards they've been dealt.
