Our recipe kits provide an extra meal to families who are food insecure, whereby they are unable to consume an adequate quality or sufficient quantity of food for health. The number of households in Bristol experiencing food insecurity has increased from last year (from 8.1% to 8.3%). This is due to the cost of living crisis, including the fastest pace of food price inflation for over 40 years and the surge in energy costs which is having a devastating effect on our community.

Award-winning cookery school and community kitchen, Square Food Foundation teaches people of all ages, abilities and walks of life to cook good food. By providing our students with skills, knowledge and confidence, we equip and encourage them to cook and eat food that is good for their bodies and minds. We send recipe kits every week to food insecure families via schools and food banks. The kits provide an extra healthy meal per week and an opportunity to cook and learn new skills without cost.
