From 15 years of working with communities, we have built a model of support which protects the most vulnerable children through projects providing free education, child protection and vocational training. This unlocks a child’s potential, ensuring that no child is left behind in a cycle of poverty.

Situation
5 million people live in Uganda’s slums. Life isn’t easy here; over 30% of adults have never accessed education and there are very high rates of unemployment, predominantly among young people and women. Household incomes are unstable, and many families survive on just one meal a day. Often, children end up in a cycle of poverty, as with no access to school or skills training and no access to social care means it’s very difficult to escape slum life and these children are left behind.
Solution
At Kids Club Kampala, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our holistic approach focuses on meeting immediate needs like child protection and community development whilst strengthening futures through education and vocational training. Our core work includes community outreach, protecting, educating, and skilling programmes, working together with communities to support vulnerable children and their families, helping them thrive instead of just surviving.
