Thousands of families a year are told that their child is so seriously ill they may die. Families can feel overwhelmed, are often isolated, and half of all parents seek professional treatment for depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts. These families are disproportionately impacted by increases in the cost-of-living due to unavoidable extra costs such as travelling to hospital and powering lifesaving equipment. The impact on siblings can be lifelong, affecting their mental health & education.

Each family is paired with their own Family Support Worker who helps with whatever they need to cope. We help families make the most of their time together & to make memories. We listen to parents’ anxieties & help siblings make sense of the situation. We keep a sick child company whilst parents have respite. We support families to travel to hospital appointments & when speaking with medics. When necessary, we help parents plan for the death of their child & provide bereavement support.
