We know 90% of a child’s brain development takes place between birth and age 5, and health, nutrition, play, learning and protection have a vital role. Yet 175m children globally have no access to early learning, and less than 2% of all early childhood development aid goes to education. Theirworld wants to change that. We are unlocking greater knowledge of the factors that impact childhood development and investing in key projects to enable children to reach their full potential

Through pioneering research of over 400 children at regular intervals from birth to the age of 25, we hope to make discoveries that will aid our understanding of the factors that most impact a child’s development to give them the best start in life. Our project funding will support children in wartorn Ukraine through an early learning programme for care and education as well as projects training women caregivers in Kenya and establishing early years centres in India
